Computer Simulation Versus Exogenous Event Poem by Chris Lane

Computer Simulation Versus Exogenous Event

A desert-battle simulation
Which involves the modeling of 666 tanks
Several squadrons of fixed and rotary wing aircraft
With platoons of troops at hand

A simulation harmless enough
And none are injured or hurt
Alas and sad it is, this battle here we lost
I couldn't account for the Exogenous Event.

Bing, I get an idea! How will the computer react?
I've put a sand-monkey in a pool of quicksand
Just to see what would happen next...

Upon hearing its screams, several soldiers did react
By snapping a branch from an olive tree
With the branch one reaches out.
