Conciliation Poem by Mai Murphy Venn

Conciliation

Power in the wrong hands may be detrimental.
Power in the right hands may be essential.
People power can move gigantic mountains.
People in government can drain the fountains.

Wisdom is power, for the citizens know it.
A wise person knows when to stand or sit.
They never genuflect to men, only to God.
Think, before you sit down, before you trod.

Read what is in the mind of your opponent!
Then contemplate on reaching atonement.
If you are in the wrong, admit your oversight.
Allow them to claim their dignity. If you are right.

Conciliation is talking, listening, and learning.
A peaceful solution is the result we are yearning.
Conflict can fester until it cannot ever heal.
Resembling every ending twirling, spinning wheel.
