Confetti Criteria Poem by derrick foster

Confetti Criteria

In your face and on the ground
In the air and all around
Bits in bunches scattered about
In the distance screams and shouts
Better than rice twice as nice
Messier and even sweet
When distributed on streets
As paper flies we wonder why
What makes small pieces
What they are
Pondered questions near and far
The standard given this spectacle
These objects minuscule oddly practical
Made important festive occasions
Parades parties
Cruises and new years too
Much like sand just as grand
An ocean of ticker tape with
Greetings true, weddings blue
Brings happiness, and laughter to all
Artificially strewn
Strips and dots squared or shaped
Small as pimples large as grapes
Colored, not and in between
How the rule is established
To test the theory
Magnificent events gay or festive
Especially cheery
Regardless of uses
Be it filler fun or toy
It enhances both
Air and joy
