In realms where interest's paths entwine,
A conflict lurks, a subtle snare,
Where loyalties and duties align,
A tangled web, a challenge rare.
Integrity's call, a clarion's sound,
To navigate with honor's guide,
Amidst the murky depths profound,
Where self and duty oft collide.
To choose the path of rectitude,
Though thorny brambles may impede,
With steadfast heart and fortitude,
Resist the lure of selfish greed.
For in the conflict's crucible,
Our character is truly tried,
Let ethics be our guiding rule,
And justice in our hearts reside.
So let us seek the higher ground,
Where conflicts yield to reason's sway,
In this sonnet's verse, we've found,
A beacon in integrity's way.
Oh conflict of interest, tangled web,
A dance of dualities, a war to wage,
Within my heart, your fire does ebb,
Tempting me to stray from righteous page.
Conflicting loyalties, a heavy weight,
Pulling me in opposite directions,
A constant battle, a tempting bait,
My soul torn apart, in many sections.
One side, duty calls with solemn tone,
A promise made, to stay true and just,
But on the other, desires have grown,
A need to follow, my heart's wild gust.
Oh conflict of interest, how you tease,
Tearing me apart, with every breeze.
