Conscience - Poem by Zoila T. Flores

Conscience, don't abandon me,
Through my journey, on this day,
Keep supporting, as you're always,
On the wisdom, of my say.

Conscience, don't rely on me,
Because my soul, is not prepared,
On directing, to my people,
On their lives, to be repaired.

Conscience, please forgive me,
To my morning, if you may,
If my eyes, refuse to open,
It's my soul, that's in dismay.

Conscience, please assist me,
In the passage, through this world,
With a cheerful, sense of spirit,
Making life, relish much more.

Wonderful thoughts, indeed. Conscience is the compass for the life's journey. One may take every step in accordance with the compass and end up in success. Another may take denial steps to end up in devastation. Choice is always within oneself. Real eye opener to every non-conscientious person. Thanks for the gem of a poem. A finely crafted piece that hums along in a fine cadence with rhyming that enhances your theme. I enjoy how you disarticulate common expressions to retain a freshness, a series of unexpected linguistic detours whose dysrhythmic jolts contrast superbly with the meter and rhyme to keep the reader engaged. Bravo, and congratulations on POD. (Report) Reply

A good conscience is a continued celebration, its visits are like that of a mother-in-law whose visits never ends. It's a lovely poem, well articulated and nicely penned with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
