Constellations Poem by Ibn Ali

Constellations

The winds that filled your sail still move you long after they stop
So ride the wave
I'm Sorry I'm late
She kept me captive
And wouldn't let me go until I did everything she wanted
Exactly how she remembered
I see the moles like constellations on her skin
I map my destination
Brim filled with fixed intent
Nothing's spoken
I recognise what's being said
That we remain is my sincere hope
We're too far gone for placid smiles
Or to be shy
We've stripped eachother's souls
And saw eachother naked
I can't function based on emotion alone
I need logic
I can't love an apparition
I have to see something solid
You start your every statement with 'I feel'
Me with 'I think'
This is the root of our disunity
You and your emotions
