Constipatied Thoughts Poem by Joshua Bantum

Constipatied Thoughts

No sleep
The mall stays open later
Tonight,
So I do too.
It’s freezing water at 3pm,
Suffocated the still breath leaving my already
Sick body
And I walk off the bus
Completely lost in
Down
Town, and all I see are her slim legs,
Frost white,
Barely covered by a skirt,
I follow her,
She knows the secret,
Keeping warmth in this valley
Of strung out dying junkies,
Like beads falling from a cut string
Hanging
From her
Throat.
But all she does is lead me to another train,
To another day of work,
For another check,
But,
To pay rent for the first time,
Life is new and stressed
Like a husbands battered words that have slapped across his wife,
For far too long.
Self destruction misunderstood
In a curious way
And we just die a bit more everyday
To figure out why.
