Constitutional Conscience. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Constitutional Conscience.

Soft steps are good, when shadows creep,
When danger hides, in slumber deep.
Walk softly then, and hold your breath,
Avoid the clash, and dance with death.

But sometimes quiet, isn't right,
When wrong is strong, and steals the light.
When others suffer, lose their way,
You cannot hide, and look away.

Though loud you speak, may bring you pain,
And push you out, in wind and rain.
To stand for truth, with heart so bold,
Is worth far more, than silver, gold.

So choose with care, your silent pace,
But know your time, to leave that place.
Raise your voice, and stand up tall,
When freedom fades, and people fall.
