Continue To Roam Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Continue To Roam

The midnight creatures begin to howl,
As I see the shadows on the prowl.
The darkness surrounds me like a cloud,
As my inner soul screams out loud.

I feel as if I'm being followed,
In this lost forgotten hollow.
When I feel the chilly, gentle breeze,
My body can feel more at ease.

The shadows play tricks on my mind,
While this inner peace I'm trying to find.
I try not to let the fear get to me,
But it's so hard when I cannot see.

Out here there is very minimal light,
Therefore, causing outrageous fright.
There is no place that I feel at home,
So, I must continue to roam.
