Your Mother is having me time these for the doctor, but I will probably turn this into a poem.
We are waiting for you patiently, knowing your arrival is on the Horizon
We have cleaned
We have organized
We have saved, and we are ready
We have in our small space
A dresser full of onesies,
A closet full of diapers, a basinet full of swaddling blankets, and an ocean of love waiting.
We are ready

As I write, we are watching baby shows on the delivery channel, so we know what to expect.
Your mother studies these experiences of other women and weighs them against her own.
Your mother got her hair done so she would be beautiful when she meets you.
I have put on a T-shirt with a baby picture of your mom that says “My Baby”
I think we are ready now.
She asks me ridiculous questions like, “Would you like to go through this part for me? ”
I sarcastically say, “sure”
You are moving right now.
