Control Poem by erica wood

Control

I hate how you put me through your selfish games,
But maybe in the end I'm to blame.
You took advantage of all I had to give,
Even if you let me go I wouldn't know how to live.
We only hung out when it was convenient for you,
You would never let me choose what we would do.
Everything had to be your way,
Got me questioning if I should leave or stay.
When I'm ready to leave you tell me how much you love and need me,
I get weak and don't know where I'm meant to be.
You get me where you want me, then push me away,
Thinking all is right and okay.
All you did was play with my mind,
Now it's what I need, that I must find.
You had control for way too long,
Now it's time to right this wrong.
Things are going to change,
I know that me telling you this is strange.
If things don't change then I'm out,
Cause equal partnership is what a relationship should be about.
