Controlled Poem by Samantha DeWitt

Controlled

The colors reign down
As my jellied arm enfolds me
Ribbons pulling me around
My rocky chest confounds me
My sinewy legs so wobbly
Fall in all directions

I see a doorway on the hill
My pace picks up, an introspection
Makes me pause, mesmerized and still
I start again, as the crowd begins to sing
Realization hits me, I'm just a puppet on a string
