Conversations With A Donald Trump Supporter Poem by Kevin Patrick

Conversations With A Donald Trump Supporter

in the ladies aisle,
the only jungle men shutter to enter
the head associate toiles
Doing a job that's beneath her vocation

When suddenly, lurking a regular waves
and begins to approaches in a casual way
as if the name on the badge placed on her lapel
Is somehow invitation to open friendship

The regular talks as if they've been friends for year
as the associate smiles, (an occupational attire)
Routing around her resume of good manners
She takes the files out called small talk, nods with contention
and listens to the regular in conscripted abandonment

'Isn't fantastic what the Americans are doing, I think its great
that the Republicans finally have a good candidate, he's someone who
is not afraid to stand up for his country, I tell you
we should have someone hear, whose not afraid of all
those PC freaks and whiney liberal babies. I think the republicans
are making better sense now, there getting someone who stands
for the principles and freedom. Canada should learn
a thing or two, we need someone like that to make the
country great. No more allowing refugees in, they will
step on our rights and bring Canada to ruin, this country
is loosing its common sense, we need someone intelligent
with good business sense and knows what there doing, '

The sales associate nods, with a grin made with pins
Her paycheque demands playing nice to patrons

'So you Support Donald Trump? '
She says, biting her teeth, to keep down her digestion

'Of course, he's the only leader worth electing,
and besides...'

She looks around darting for secret surveillance
pipes down an octave and whispers with glee
like a mischievous mean girl, set out to
make rumors for ruin.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a true story a person who I know that works at a retail outlet was talking to a regular customer, who extoled the virtues of Donald Trump, when the person asked there main reason why they supported him, they said they did not want to see a jew - read Bernie Sanders - become leader of the United States.

Not that All Trump supporters are racists, they just want to see change, you know like concentration camps and nuclear Armageddon.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

It really hurts that this poem tells the truth [a political no-no]. If only it could be a farce. Or a tragic-comedy. Oh, wait. It is that too. Well written.
