Cooke City, Montana Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Cooke City, Montana

Rating: 0.5

grasshopper glacier
above the treeline

we climb-thin air and sunlight
limning granite peaks

troughs of pink snow
ice and rock this high
beckons us to wilderness
and the cold reality
of the Beartooths

we abandon the world
of illusion below
for the mystic call
of hard reality
