Corn Town Poem by Hunter Jade East

Corn Town

On a road so cold and alone
I start feel like I am home
Somewhere in the distance
I see you're face

Miles high the valleys low
Far beyond where I must go
Somewhere in the distance
She waits for me

Hear me now I say goodbye
I bow my head and close my eyes
Lonely blacktop calling for me
I sit alone in empty street
Lost in Corn Town but still I'm home
I face this world all alone
And now she's gone

My only hope is never close
Yet still my desperate story goes
There she is waiting now
I can almost see it

The days die faster than before
I never see you anymore
I know you're waiting now
I can almost feel it

Hear me now I say goodbye
I bow my head and close my eyes
Lonely blacktop calling for me
I sit alone in empty street
Lost in Corn Town but still I'm home
I face this world all alone
And now she's gone

In the distance
I see a light
My god, not now
Please not tonight
Tell me that you're here

Hear me now I say goodbye
I bow my head and close my eyes
Lonely blacktop calling for me
I sit alone in this empty street
Lost in Corn Town but still I'm home
I face this world all alone
And now she's gone
