Corruption Poem by Ngwa Louis

Corruption

What a Lucifer…
Whirling with claws of horror
In your quiver continents shiver
Captives under your terror
Creating stampedes the world within
Leaving predicaments the world without
The longer you prevail ignominy will scare peace
Oh corruption, you I demur

Like wild fire you spread
In feeble minds you cling
On CFAF minds you trade
In your fangs, the worlds' tearing
Your presence is ominous
Myopic, forlorn we're immure
Prodigies deny espousing
Prefer thee charred
Oh Corruption …you are wicked

You having no shame
I'll see you sink
Despite your soothing fame
My view of you is flinty
You blowsy imp
Pray I your end be imminent
Impeccably you are hunted
Your rhetoric reign urge your end
Oh corruption…. With blitz
The world will bliss

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this Poem in my early secondary school days in Cameroon when my country was classified one of the most corrupt countries in the world which today still remains. I would have loved to tell you more about the way i felt but i'll just let you digest the poem for yourself. CFAF here is the currency used by the CEMAC countries which is the francs CFA.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Bartholomew A. B. Sarbah 07 August 2012

It is an important issue you've touched on. Corruption has become a canker worm in politics and must be tackled much serious. The poem itself was written we, though I think you could do better.
