Counting Down Poem by Paul Warren

Counting Down

Just a year to go
Was a patient call
Then I won't need it any more

Just a month to go
Showed some more
Then I'll sleep better he did implore

Just a day to go
I've outlasted them
Once it is over the end I will adore

And I wake up knowing
That it will no longer be
When what is left is left to explore.
