Covered Uncovered Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Covered Uncovered

Covered Uncovered

It was like I was guest
Once again to Alan
Wanted to go but both
Seemed to have agreed on
I pay, buy part of things.

He drove and I was
Passenger, naturally;
But he in an RV?

The shop was too small
Seller was behind bars
I placed the order
The man was too polite.

Somehow I, in between
Realised needed pack
To carry the things home.

That turned mess; customers
Came in mass, here, there
I ended upstairs…

There I met old friend
A Baluch…
To the guy next to him
I was then introduced.

We talked of poetry
His comment woke me up
I had been in my bed
Half asleep!

'The poets wrote poems
Of the hair, eyebrows…'
My friend's friend said:
'…when women were
Covered…'

Had to rush out of bed
Write: 'Covered uncovered! '
