Covid 19 Benefits Poem by Alexandre Nodopaka

Covid 19 Benefits

Faced with the Viral Blight
that people of Earth endure
myself included

and despite my stroke
of 4 weeks ago
(I like the digit 4 better than

the digit 1 because one month
sounds too short)
and the problem with my left

eye that is kept postponed
from visiting my doctor
on account of the same virus

I decide to put all on paper.

Before sitting at the PC
I make an eye patch with
a long strip of soft fabric

from my wife's carefully
torn T-shirt. Stretching
the elastic fabric over

my head I put it on
and say we haven't been
this close for some time

and not only because
of the damn virus.
I don't mind it's only

one eye that benefits
from our proxy contact.
It's also the virtual

thought.
From my mouth to God's
ear may this become reality.
