Crash Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Crash

A foot gently taps the surface of the cold floor
Her hand sifts through her unkempt hair
She knocks over the glass of mango juice
It free-falls in slow motion; crash

The floor gets sticky, a splash of yellow,
She lifts her legs up to the rotating chair
Rests her chin on a pillow, fingers drumming
Upon the table that aches to rid of her

The night lights slowly dim, they die down
Vehicular noise no longer ached her
With the push of a finger on her spectacles
Her body dial involuntary grips onto her

Memories, thoughts and forsaken desires
Pierce right through her sanity, she screams
But silence blanketed the white-washed walls
The night lights crept away, the floor shifted

Mascara dripped from her soaked eyes
Frozen to her spot, the gentle breeze
Dances through her tousled hair of black;
Fading into Darkness, It whistled her closer
