Creativity In Poetry Poem by Denis Martindale

Creativity In Poetry

When God made Man, His plans were good, with more good things in mind,
If only Man did what he should, in all things wise and kind,
And though Man fell from perfect grace, God still had thoughtful plans,
For planet Earth, the Human Race, and truths Man understands.

And thus, through stories prophets shared, and language at its best,
There, too, came poets who prepared the words that God has blessed.
Creative in so many ways, with melodies and more,
Then came the playwrights and their plays, the dramas we adore.

While not all poets will get paid, each noble soul still writes,
With all heart sentiments portrayed, their portions of delights,
Each legacy in poetry, each treasure from on high,
Because this is their destiny, the reason they still try.

Thus decades pass, Good News persists, and holy prayers ascend,
From psalmists and evangelists to Christ, the Sinner's Friend,
Who one day went to Calvary, proclaimed King of the Jews,
Through Pontius Pilate's sign to see the King who they refuse.

His words had power at that time, to challenge one and all,
Outstanding words can prove sublime and work a miracle,
That's why the poets still endure and share what they proclaim,
The very future to ensure, with poems of Christ's fame.

Yet not all poems preach the Word or share sweet Valentines,
Or help explain truths seen or heard with pleasant rhyming lines,
But with a freedom and a flair, through phrases long and short,
We read what poets choose to share as they reveal each thought.

And some are writers of renown, and some just signed ANON,
They live in every kind of town until their lives are gone,
Yet only God knows where they go, beyond their time on Earth,
And only God knows what we owe to poems that have worth.
