Crimes Poem by WR. Dutton

Crimes

She hate me now
for the crimes I've commited
The crimes were heinous
that I've admitted

I begged for her mercy
but to no avail
Because the heart of my love
is so fragil and frail

I pleaded to end the war
I cried out for peace
but the battle in my heart
simply refused to cease

I loved her so much
this I now know
but the love in my heart
I was to foolish to show

As my knife cut deep
A statement began to blare
Life isn't easy kid
It just ain't fair

The old fool that spoke
simply didn't know the half
as I stared down eternity
I died with a laugh
