Crimson Poem by Himani Singh

Crimson

Rating: 4.0

Dew dewed on stretches green
Watched and sat I on the brink
Of sipping brew
Eyes high on a familiar pain
Lips trembled and shuddered
At the light so dismal, so eerie.
On my left a mug, on my right a tale
Wishing fulfilment or a ruthless rebuttal
His eyes blazing, Oh! the frenzy, the rage!
To affirm was perjury, to deny, a sin
So we spoke in colours
Burning deep and burning bright
His hues all mine and mine his
For I was a crimson and he was the rye.
