Crimson Crescents Poem by Kara Dawkins

Crimson Crescents

His arms wrap around her
His breath on her neck
She could feel the water vapour
Gradually clouding her judgement

She had her hand clutching his leg
Her nails digging into his skin
So hard that tiny crimson crescents
Scarred his perfect flesh

His teeth clenched tight
He scrunched his eyes shut
Yet still his cheeks began to sparkle
With the fresh dew of his despair

For he was soon to crumble
Crack and cry and cave
Just as anybody would
When placed under this immense pressure

Soon the solemn time had come
And she pushed away his lifeless body
Causing him to fall and smash
And now he's just crumbs in the carpet
