Criticism Rebellion - Poem by Connie Webb

I feel it coming on
With an email,
Or a phone call,
Or in person.
I feel the criticism
Of me,
Of me,
Of me not getting things right,
Of me not doing it the way it is supposed to be done.
But this time
I am not buying into
Their criticism of me.
I can do things my way.
Maybe it isn’t the way it is supposed to be done
But I won’t let someone stop me
From being me,
From being me,
Because I am okay for me,
For me,
For me.
