Crossing The Chasm - Poem by Cash Onadele

I am under no illusion as to making her love me
She is vintage model, sweet sensation, easily liked
Bestubbled, I dragged all through town with my cronies
This shaggy town has little for young adults
I tipped my hat to recognize her presence
She swooned over to rest by my side
It was so intense I looked so drenched
May be she mistook me for some one
Then rang out my name, the best I ever heard it sound
From no other than the sweet lady herself.
I crooned to her affectionate movements and offered drinks
I hope she has a thing or two to show me for I am willing to learn
She agreed to a Western side by side dance step:
I whispered into her ears, what I had sang for her all night
”go with me, you wouldn’t regret it”
She replied, now is the time or never
Together we walked all the side tracks home
And we crossed the great chasm, effortlessly
