I.
Coconuts tried it without its water, tasteless,
Honeybees tried it without its sweetness, boring!
The snail tried it without its ringed shell, fried!
The snake without its skin, shapeless!
Refrain: There is only all of me, when there is all of you.
II.
Some things are designed to be together,
Comforting each other, with kindness,
Making each other stay in shape, peaceably,
Enjoying each other’s company, being happy,
Refrain: There is only all of me, when there is all of you.
III.
You know you were made just for me,
Living without us, makes you sad, too,
Outside of us; we both are incomplete,
Insecure, lonely and mostly unhappy.
Refrain: There is only all of me, when there is all of you.
IV.
I am made for you, and you darn well know it,
My heart is open and wide, so claim it, again,
Because without you, empty is my embrace,
There is no me, to live in this world; happy!
Refrain: There is only all of me, when there is all of you
V.
Tell me, why do we stand here; looking for shadows; in the evening sky?
Letting this cheap; hurtful pride eat at our hearts’ desire,
This hour, and how many more seasons would we spend without us?
We could trade all in for the giggly time of our lives,
Refrain: There is only all of me, when there is all of you.
