Crucible Of My Heart Poem by Keith Sophic

Crucible Of My Heart

Rating: 5.0

A most painful gift
which you never owned.
From you, fire to destroy me
A love that would never leave.

You gave me pain, and I promised you comfort.
You gave me comfort with the promise of pain.

I lost myself in your abyss.
Never shall we be the same.

Barrel to the brain, finger trembling;
a thousand memories swept away.
No end to the pain would it bring;
my burden gone, theirs forever stained.

The pain of Seeing, a soul transformed.
The choice of Living, that dreadful chore.

Resolved to strength, they need me now.
If only I could have made you See.

Sad story of love expertly narrated in a good poem. Very heartfelt with strong emotions. Thanks for sharing Keith.
