Cruel Fate
It is a cruel fate
To give one's heart
Most earnestly
And to be forgotten
Most helplessly
It is a cruel fate
To have hopes high
To dream a bright dream
That feels possible and real
And to never get nigh
It is a cruel fate
To feel love and kindness
And hopefulness and connection
Only to be forgotten, abandoned
And left out on the trail with no direction
But I still love you just the same....
