Crumpled Picture Poem by Rachel Grogan

Crumpled Picture

I have a crumpled picture
with your tattered little shoes
and I can't help but wonder
just what became of you

With your sad little eyes
and half frozen smile
Did you find your life joyful
though here a short while

I hope that you were loved
and that someone can explain
how a little boy can die
and his life not be in vain

I was born much too late
to be of help to you
But I want to hear your story
It's the least I can do

As I sit here and question
if your life held any fun
Or have I been mistaken
Were you the lucky one?

OUCH WHAT A SAD POEM AND YOUR WORDS ARE SO MOVING WE SOMETIMES WONDER WHY LIFE WOULD BE THAT SHORT FOR A LITTLE BOY I LIKE THE LINE ABOUT THE CRUMPLED PICTURE OF HIS LITTLE SHOES I SEE THEM CLEARLY THROUGH YOUR WORDS
