Cry Me O River Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Cry Me O River

Cry me o river, with tears of pain
That flow from the depths of a broken heart
For in my soul, love's bitter stains remain
As we drift apart, forever apart
Your waters reflect my sorrow and grief
Each wave a reminder of what we had
But now, our love is but a fading leaf
Once blooming, now withered, dull and sad
As I sit by your banks, I reminisce
Of the sweet moments we shared in the past
But now all that's left is a bitter bliss
A love that couldn't withstand the test
So flow, o river, with my tears in tow
Let the seashore hear melodies dirge song,
For what's left of me, you already know.
