Crying Out In America Poem by sharon kubeck

Crying Out In America

Crying out in America!

Dear Mr. President can't you see!
Thousands of homeless, next may be me.

People without food, no heat no light!
Their battle for survival is a constant fight!

Living without any medical insurance!
Who can they rely on without any reassurance?

We have looked forward to the golden years,
Now we face them yet with broken tears!

What happened to the pursuit of happiness and liberty?
Stripped of our rights, the land of the free!

We all had hopes, we all had dreams,
Seems like nothing but lies and schemes!

Voices of America are crying out to you!
But still you ignore and still have no clue!
