in the depths of autumns slumber
where moonlight hunts the quiet night
through a forest cloaked in shadow
trees shiver in a waking fright
nothing moves, accept the darkness
creeping vapours of oiled gloom
surround the path where no man goes
for it be his eternal doom
something sinister was lurking
watching with esurient eyes
as the earth began to tremble
with the footprints of madmen cries
and I heard a whisper calling
through the quills of ancient pines
in a tongue beyond the eons
which could paralyze a mans spine
And I ran towards the village
preying to find salvation's arms
as the horror stalked my movement
hungry with malevolent charm
tentacles called, with terror enthralled
a thousand mouths began to scream
I felt the night, of evils spawn
as great Cthulhu began to dreams
No idea who Cthulhu is (I'll do some research) , but I like this scary poem. Happy Halloween!
