Cunning Thunder Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Cunning Thunder

Cunning Thunder
One at the other the Shadows
Looked
See!
Said One:
Long elongated have the shadows come
And the scent of Dawn comes over the sea
And light over waters walks:
Creeps ruthless day.
This to attain the Cunning Thunder
Saw
Reversed and rolled
The coming Dawn back into the
Night
Into dark the light
In opium sweetness sight
And
Breathing over lands and seas!
