Cyber-Ozymandias Poem by Judy Nelson Eldawy

Cyber-Ozymandias

'Twas a darkling, dismal day
Of angry purple and stormy gray
For snuggles in bedding downy deep
To rest and sleep
To dream,
To sleep...

And yet, yearning slyly caught me
A creeping yen which forced me down
'Cross chilly tiles, past drafty doors
To take my pen in hand

I hurl across the room
This inky medium in ballpoint bound
To vent some vague but urgent feeling
Whilst powering up to surf Cyber's Sound.

AHH! The lure of this vasty deep...
This untouchable, intangible, boundless Main
'Tis intoxicating, this cyber streaming
A psychological opiate for the brain.

The joys of IM gratification
Of search engines and groups
And networks found
Of chats with new, exciting people
And rare info run to ground.

Thus I glut myself on email
Thousands of words of prose a day
And thus this urge is slowly sated
In creations of cyber clay.

A cyber-Ozymandias am I...
