Cycling Poem by Catherine Habbie

Cycling

Rating: 3.0

They took us to the road today.
I was shaking like a leaf
When the road got steep
trying the pace to keep

Vehicles all around going beep beep
Birds on the trees cheep cheep
But I was just trying
The pace to keep

The ice on the street
kept saying retreat retreat
but persisting is such a treat
when your fears you beat

No dream is too big.
No slope too steep
'For I have promises to keep
and miles to go before I sleep'
