Daddy Poem by Laura Hollan

Daddy

Rating: 5.0

Daddy please stop hitting me
Can; t you see you're hurting me
You're not only marking my skin
But my soul within

Why can't you be a real dad
Loving me when i am happy as well as sad
And helping me all through the day
Instead of bringing me pain

How come I'm the one you want to hit
When i haven; t done a thing
Why cant you stop after one hit
Instead of so much it makes my ears ring

Don; t you know i always wanted a dad
Someone i can look up 2
But i didn; t get that
I got you

All i am asking
Is for you to stop hurting me
An let me live a normal life

Very touching write. I enjoyed it. It makes anger and remorse all at the same time. Agry at a man, but sympathetic for the child. Very good.
