Daddy,
Today I rested my head
Upon your grave,
And cried myself to sleep.
The pink roses I had brought for you,
Lay frozen before the epitaph
As your body
Lay frigid beneath the grass.
Why did you leave me alone
To face this terrible world?
With only your words
Guiding me,
Echoing in my ears.
But not your hands
To hold my finger tip any more.
Your little girl is bruised;
Won't you caress her once?
Won't you take her in your arms
And hide her in your hug,
As you did whenever I was scared?
I'm scared, so scared
I'm scared to trudge alone.
In this world with
Masked faces
I see Macbeths every where
With daggers in their looks.
Didn't know it was so terrifying
To be an orphan.
Come back Daddy.
I miss you.
