Dalit literature, Dalit literature,
I hear the people saying,
The people I mean the academics,
Specially the scholars
Of the varsity campuses
Always in a hunt for topics,
But before they went away
They did not clear it,
What they meant,
Meant by Dalit literature
And for what they got interested
All of a sudden,
For promotion or virgin research
Or for grants,
Why had, had they been not before,
What the matter behind their sudden interest?

None thinks about the Dalits,
None about their upliftment,
Social development and welfare,
Economic prosperity and dependence,
All but after paper publications,
Books, workshops and seminars
As for to highlight themselves
Not them, the Dalits,
All for grants and aids for researches
Not about their welfare truly,
Just for fellowships andprojects to bring,
Dalit literature of the Dalit people
Downtrodden and exploited people,
Let them, let their own history,
Write you not their tales of misery and pity.
