Modern Indian English Poetry Ph.D. One Book Poetry-Writer Ph.D. - Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

If you peruse deeply, you will come toy our finding
That modern Indian English poetry initially began with
The stray poems and one books on the anvil
And they were not established writers, but were the beginners,
The amateur ones promising to add to the corpus,
But now you may call et cetera, et cetera.

If one can see the anthology and credo of P.Lal and V.K.Gokak, one will come to know what Indian English poetry is, how the history of it? (Report)Reply

When I had been working on Indian English in the eighties there were no books to evaluate and assess nor the writers were accessible. Even the books were not in the shops and stalls. Only Parthasarathy's slim anthology of ten or twelve Indian English poets was available besides the slim Oxford anthology. Even the teachers were not aware of the poems put for critical appreciation. What more can I say? (Report)Reply

The bogus too have the potential of becoming great. there is nothing as good or bad, but thinking makes it so. The ragged of Lay Gregory's The Rising of The Moon can be a patriot or a rebel int eh eyes of the looker-on. So is the Gandhian freedom fighter, if a patriot for the Indians then a rebel for the British. (Report)Reply

PhD is a PhD...one line of an ordinary poet can be extended into a thesis! Don't put bogus things (Report)Reply

    (8/12/2019 9:21:00 PM)

Do not try to give me knowledge. Before calling one bogus, one should know it how much bogus is one who calls others bogus!

    (8/12/2019 12:29:00 AM)

Let us study Indian English afresh as a study in borrowings and parodies, imitation to perfection. The sides of thought should not be interrupted. The thesis and anti-thesis of George Bernard Shaw can one sidetrack?
