Dancing In The Mist Poem by Ahmad Abdullah

Dancing In The Mist

Where else does a path lead to
but to where your legs take you
for the journey you travel only ends
when you lose sight of where you come from

Death does not really kill you
Until your quest to learn gives up its ghost
and at a crossroad you despair, stagnant
feeling hollow, like a vessel of damnation

No one will hear you cry for help
when you fail to scream

No one will lend you their time
when you choose to sleep

Neither a hand nor a pen
for the fear you won't utilize it

And to your light, they'll be blind
while you dance in the mist

without illumination
without resilience
without diligence
without conformation

to the laws that embezzles destinies
and the principles that mocks greatness

For, for a man to be at ease
He must be at peace

And you'll never find peace
When all you seek is justice
