For Love - Poem by Ahmad Abdullah
Born into this world a few decades ago,
I've met scores of people who don't think
that love in its true self does exist
and its worth fighting for and living for.
its true that feelings might be complicated
yet the question of trust is usually exaggerated
for true feelings lies in the sacrifice
that we're willing to make for each-other
I'm not talking about classic romance
like that i read about Romeo and Juliet
for love for me, is not to die for, but live for
except when you die to make a loved one live
Love is pain, love bring tears
yet the best of memories are all about love
one moment of splendor...fills your world with glamor
and despite the gloomy times,
i will always remain a sucker for love.
I however found love when i met that special one
and even though i might have a million complains...like she has
she is my pride, the face of love,
the pinnacle of everything bright and beautiful.
my love for her has made her stronger
her love for me has made me firmer
to brave the obstacles of life that we come by
with a strengthened faith in God and each-other.
i pray and hope and will fight for this feeling,
to stand the test of time and the weapons of temptations.
and this is just a billionth of what my pen could write
out of the ink its shedding.
afterall...I'm still the sucker for love
