Danegelt Poem by Stefan Splawinski

Danegelt

we need to live for peace
everlasting welfare state
cradled in happy comfort
global hunger will abate

for those less fortunate
generous help we'll send
relief of storm or famine
their loss we shall amend

around the world at large
the many are growing more
the well provided are few
you know what's in store

believe in social justice
dare question equal worth
why should only some folk
have the pick of the earth
