Darkness Surrounds Me Poem by Mark Sebert

Darkness surrounds me
like a permanent plague
pain confounds me,
it makes me insane
terror of the mind
when there's nothing sublime
[pain is all I find]
when life doesn't rhyme.

But i search for hope
a cool dropp of water
an oasis of ecstasy,
but the fire gets hotter
when i find it
it all fades away
I try to bind it
but it slips fast away.

I search on
my desperation seen
I need a shoulder to lean on,
but there is no one to cling on
I search the world
thick and thin
but it all made me hurl
when it started to spin.
