Dating Poem by Randy McClave

Dating

Think first before you start dating
On your partner's beliefs first do a rating,
Especially on how they were reared and raised
And also how they were praised.
A lot of people weren't raised on love
They were instead raised on survival, and how to kill a dove,
That is why many men and women that you see
Don't and won't ever know how to love properly,
They just know how to only use and hurt
And how to lie and to cheat and to steal and then desert,
And when they make their loved one weak
They did what they did seek.
You will find a lot of people who are hurt and damaged
Their beliefs and hopes are no longer managed,
Because they had found that someone to love them
But, that person gave them only mistrust and bedlim.
Before you choose a mate, or a husband or a wife
First think of their past and how they view life,
Look upon their ex's and also their father and their mother
And then see how they treated one and each other.
Here is my one and only piece of advice
Before you ever start dating, please think twice,
For myself, from love I would rather truly be forsaken
Than to be in love, and forever be sadly mistaken.
