Day-Moon Poem by Gillian Commerford

Day-Moon

Day-moon
why do you glow?
Don't you know
the sun is up
bright and yellow
as any buttercup?
Aren't you content with the night anymore?
Don't you know its darkness
which seems so full of sin and secret acts
often kindly hides our weaknesses and flaws
which show up clear and cruel
in the harshness of daylight?
