Questions Poem by Gillian Commerford

Questions

God said hello to me
just the other day.
I knew it was God
because he told me so.
He looked kind of old
and shrunken up with pain
perhaps the devil
had been worrying him again.
I said 'How's Jesus-
is he still into wine? '
He answered 'That's no way to speak
about a son of mine.'
I asked 'Is it true
that he's a part of you-
and what about the Holy Ghost
he always troubled me the most? '
Then he looked into my eyes
and I felt a sudden shame.
I said 'It doesn't matter
I love you all the same.'
