Red sarees
green beads
a sea of people
outside Mahadev Temple
Women sing
some dance
smiling face
all around
Bel patra
pint of milk
ghee and offerings
in poojaa thaalee
All day worship
at Lord Shiva Temple
Bhadra Shukla Tritiya

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Haritalika Teej falls on Thursday 9th of September 2021 this year as per Nepali lunar calendar. Its women's festival and the one day in the year when they forget their woes. Its women's holiday on Teej in Nepal and red colour symbolizes Teej. Women greet each other, sing bhajans, fast during day and have a huge feast the next day.
