December, Stay A Little Longer
The year is ending.
O December,
You have arrived too soon.
Could you stay a little longer?
I'm not ready to say goodbye.
I remember
laughter and joy,
and good tiding
of yester years.
This year something is missing.
I cannot fathom
what it is.
Nostalgia,
thoughts random,
old memories
cloud my mind.
My heart aches,
I do not want to say goodbye.
O December,
stay, stay a little longer.
