Daybreak Poem by Jon Hadley

Daybreak

And when the sun rose, the sky blossomed into colour,
rising like a hurricane from the east.
The storms that raged around, Ceaseless and menacing
could only bow in awe, as
Serenity rushed forth and calmed the raging seas.

And after the trees had corrected their leaves,
and allowed their buds to be kissed by the wind,
they stretched their roots,
and settled in the warmth beneath.

And even as the Sun, dropped and sank into the west,
the stars, in their wisdom
lifted the night and,
the darkness was nowhere to be found
